\n\tSiempre decimos que WordPress<\/strong> es muy versátil, y lo es. Puede usarse como blog personal, web corporativa, como tienda online con ayuda del fantástico WooCommerce<\/a><\/strong>, como red social con BuddyPress<\/a><\/strong>, como portafolio<\/a><\/strong>, como foro con bbPress<\/a><\/strong>, etc…\n<\/p>\n

\n\tUna de los usos más habituales, es usar WordPress para avisar de las novedades<\/strong>, lanzamientos de nuevos productos, conciertos y cualquier evento en general.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tPodemos limitarnos a escribir un nueva entrada informando del evento, algo muy correcto, pero si tenemos varios eventos quizás la información quede algo diluida entre post y post.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tImaginad por ejemplo que sea el sitio web de un grupo de música en el que se informa de los próximos conciertos. Lo que se buscaría sería que toda la información de los conciertos estuviera a la vista <\/strong>, y para eso tenemos un magnífico plugin para WordPress llamado The Events Calendar<\/strong>.

\n\tSi tienes la necesidad de informar de distintos eventos o acontecimientos, el plugin The Events Calendar<\/strong> puede ser tu mejor aliado.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tEs sencillo, tiene varias opciones y además, es gratuito, aunque si quieres optar a todas sus opciones tendrás que pasar por caja.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDesde aquí sólo vamos a ver la parte gratuita del plugin, que es más que suficiente para la gran mayoría de los usuarios.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLo primero que debemos hacer es instalarlo desde la sección de plugins de nuestro WordPress. También tenemos la opción de descargarlo desde aquí<\/a><\/strong>.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tUna vez activado veremos un nuevo menú en la barra lateral y otro accedo en la barra superior.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tEn el menú lateral tenemos varias opciones y ajustes, aunque también podemos crear eventos, mientras que en el menú superior podemos ver nuestro calendario haciendo click en Eventos \/ Ver mi Calendario<\/strong>.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tComo veréis, es un calendario al uso y vacío. En la parte superior podemos ver como día y como lista. También podemos cambiar el mes y realizar un búsqueda.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tSi hacemos click en Añadir Evento<\/strong> en el menú superior, tiene el mismo efecto que si hiciéramos click en Agregar nuevo<\/strong> en el menú lateral, que es añadir un nuevo evento a nuestro calendario.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tEl funcionamiento es muy sencillo. Es muy parecido a escribir un artículo. Se añade el título y la descripción e incluso se puede añadir una imagen.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tPor supuesto, tenemos la opción de añadir la fecha del evento, el lugar, si queremos que se muestre el mapa en Google Maps e incluso si se tiene que pagar algo para asistir.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tUna vez hayamos creado el evento podemos verlo creado en nuestro calendario. <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tSi hacemos click en el evento nos llevará a una página donde veremos todos los datos que hemos añadido, incluido el mapa de Google Maps. La URL resultante la podemos compartir con quién queramos.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tSi queremos que los eventos se muestren en una página o en la barra lateral de nuestro WordPress, podemos hacer uso de un Widget<\/strong> que el plugin nos ofrece.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTan sólo tenemos que arrastrarlo a la barra lateral y darle un nombre. Podemos elegir el número de eventos a mostrar así como sólo mostrar el Widget si hay eventos pendientes.\n<\/p>\n
